Surprise driving lesson!

I went to a restaurant with my dad around noontime, because I rarely go out and spend time with him. I had some seriously yummy food (pancakes and sausage), too! After that, we decided to go to the park. But I noticed he was taking a different route than usual to get to the park. I asked him if we were going the right way, and he said it was just an alternative route. But I saw him pull into his job's huge and empty parking lot, and he said to me;
"Switch sides."
I asked why, and his only answer was "Because". By now I was totally freaking out because I was so not expecting to be given a crash course in driver's ed! He first showed me the basic controls like the pedals and different gear shifts. I got really scared once the car started moved (I forgot what mode it was in, I think it was in drive, but I was only using the brake pedal to move), but the fear quickly went away. It wasn't too bad! Then he had me turn around some light poles. The entire session lasted about 15 minutes. Totally shiok.
I hope we do it again soon, because it was super fun. He also filmed a few minutes of it with his iPhone, and we showed it to my mom. She thought it was awesome!

Doradora CD unwrapping!

I just got home, and I went to go check the mailbox...

My Doradora CD by U-Kiss arrived! I'm so happy, because I've been waiting for this CD for about a month. I got the poster yesterday in the mail, too, and it's super gorgeous. Anyway, I took some photos of the unwrapping process. :)

I was actually quite surprised at how long the case is! I know k-pop CD cases can be a bit long, but I think this takes 1st place for length. Anyway, look at all the sparkles on it! I love how they appear all rainbow-y next to light.

And look at the inside! I love the way they set it up, it just feels really nice to open. LOL. I like all the different color kisses on the CD itself, and the quality of the entire case/photos is really really nice. It's really glossy and smooth.

Now, I'm not gonna take photos of the entire photobook, because then this would be a super picture-heavy post. But look! The binding came ripped. :( Thankfully I was able to save it by using some tape, and it's working just fine now. Anyway, all the songs on this mini album are great, and I highly recommend them!
My k-pop CD collection is at 12 CDs total now I believe, haha. The only two U-Kiss albums I have are Neverland and Doradora. I wish I could get my hands on Bran New Kiss, but it seems to be impossible to find. Don't even get me started on how expensive Forbidden Love and Tick Tack are, either...

Feeling sick :(

I was supposed to go to the eye doctor today for my fourth contact lens fitting, but I canceled at last minute because I have felt like crap alllll day. It's mostly been my head and stomach. I really hope I can get those contact lenses in next week, though.
I've been working on my writing blog on Tumblr for most of the day. Sooo much HTML and coding. @_@ But because I've been messing around with it, I finally understand HTML! Enough  to do some nice changes, at least. But yeah, at least it's something.
Also, I checked my traffic page and I've had viewers from the U.K and Russia, and I haven't even tried promoting this blog, LOL. That's so awesome!

Dance Showcase (from 4/21/12)

So the dance showcase was last night, and it was amazing. Truthfully, it was one of the best nights of my life!
Jen Chen (one of the girls in our team) brought us Chinese food during practice, which was delicious by the way *u*
But we practiced until 6:30, as the show started at 7. By then, our audience and other crews who were in the show were arriving.
We opened for the show, with just a little intro dance, which unfortunately got kinda messed up because the music wasn’t started at the right time. -.- But before all that we were watching the other crews practice, and we were just floored. They were allamazing. Even Xavier (guy from our crew) was like “Excuse me while I go quit now :U” because we honestly felt really amateur compared to the other teams. But I think we all did a great job. ^_^
What I loved was that there was no ego battles or anything going on. We all cheered each other on and whatnot. :3 At the end, we all had a freestyle bit, which was pretty fun. I only went in once because I completely embarrassed myself when I went in, so I didn’t go in again. :U
The other crews had a lot of Asians in them, heehee. They were all amazing :P There was a tall, skinny, super gorgeous one (*swoon*) that was doing the spider and all kinds of crazy contortionist moves during the freestyle bit. He was wonderful! There was also an Irish dance team, and they were so cute! The oldest girl looked to be about 17, while the others were mostly little girls, and then there was the instructor performing with them. They. Were. So. Cute! I’ve always loved Irish dancing, it’s so nice. n_n Then there was this incredible step team, too. They were just plain amazing:hysterical In total, there were 5 other crews that came to the show and performed.
I only got a bit embarrassed because my godsister Arianna and my godbrother Daniel came up on stage, and while I didn’t mind Daniel being up there, I did mind Arianna. She was running around and hiding behind me and all kinds of shit. :U
My parents, godparents, Arianna, Daniel and I all went out for pizza afterwards. All in all it was a very, very fun night. ^.^
After being a part of that experience, I really want to continue dancing, and pursue it seriously. I think NYU has a dance program at Tisch, but I know it won’t be easy to get into. If I keep with this, though, I know I’ll be able to do it!

Preparations (from 4/18/12)

I haven’t posted in a few days. :( But a few interesting things happened!
Monday night I went to a Cuban restaurant with my parents for their anniversary. Although their anniversary was Tuesday, my dad works on Tuesdays, so we went on Monday. It was a very nice restaurant. I just had some shredded pork with rice and black beans. It was amazing! I definitely would like to go back there again. I also tried some non-alcoholic sangria, but I found it to be a bit too sweet for my taste. Our waiter was super cute! He had to be at least 22, but his skin was flawless! And he was slim but had muscle and he was just too cute.
The school dance team showcase is Friday, and I’ve been very nervous. I thought we had all learned completely different dances, but it turns out it’s the same ones, plus a new one, that we did at the E.R.A.S.E unity dinner a few months ago (which I didn’t go to). I chickened out of practice after school yesterday, because I was seriously doubting myself. But after I went today, I’m feeling much more confident and am almost ready to perform on Friday. We start selling tickets tomorrow, and I really hope we can get a lot of people to go. I’m going to call my godmother later and see if she can come. I know it’s a bit of short notice, but I told her a few months ago about this show, though she probably forgot. If she comes, her kids and husband probably will, too. Which is great! I love them. :)

Dentist (from 4/14/12)

Yesterday I went to the mall with my friend Kristen. I had a great time! I bought some nice clothes and a lot of perfume and lotion, LOL. Bless Bath and Body Works.
When we got to Deb, Kristen decided she wanted to try on this really pretty white minidress she saw. Mind you, she was crossdressing as a guy, and was pulling it off quite well. When she showed one of the employees that she wanted to try on a dress, this employee looked completely rattled. She really didn’t know that Kristen was a girl, and thought that she was a man wanting to try on a dress. I had to go to the other side of the store until I could calm down because I was laughing so hard. Her expression was just priceless!
But before all that, we went into Bath and Body Works. They had this huge counter of alllll these kinds of spray perfumes, being sold at the wonderful deal of “buy 3, get 3 free”. I only bought one, but Kristen bought two and my mom got a ton. We were trying on all the perfume when Kristen said “Wait, I’m supposed to be a guy…yet here I am trying on all this perfume.”
My response? “Well, maybe you’re just a guy who likes perfume. :)”
And after all that, she came back home with my mom and I and we just watched some music videos until she had to go home. I enjoyed yesterday. It was the only interesting thing I did all week…
And today I had to go to the dentist. I was seriously shaking with nervousness. I really cannot stand the dentist. I was supposed to get one of my cavities filled, but the dentist decided on a cleaning, sealants, and x-rays. The sealants were uncomfortable as fuck. Just thinking about the process makes me wanna throw up…Needless to say, I was quite a problem to deal with, and he didn’t even bother to hide the fact he was getting pissed off. Yeah, I felt bad, but what could I do?

Easter Sunday (from 4/8/12)

Every year on Easter, my parents and I go to church. Though if I had a say in it, it would be just the two of them going. I don’t like going to church, as Catholicism really isn’t my thing. I don’t protest, though, because I know it’s just going to piss them off. And on a holiday like Easter, I don’t like pissing them off.
I do think I looked rather nice, though! For my eye makeup I stuck with baby pink and  a vivid shade of purple. The pink was in the middle of the lid, while the purple was on the inner and outer corners. I should have taken a picture! Well, I did, but it was just of my face…Then after church we went to a diner and had some yummy food. I got some pancakes. The pancakes from this diner actually taste super good! The butter is pretty much rock solid, though…bleh!
I suppose I’ll spend the rest of my day…resting. Rutgers University is having a Dream High-inspired play on Friday, and I really would like to go! The only problem is that Friday is the day I’m supposed to go to the mall with Kristin…oh well! I’ve heard that they do plays like that every year. So maybe I’ll just go next year.

The King and the Clown (from 4/7/12)

I saw this amazing Korean movie today, and I thought it’d be a nice idea to have my first blog post be about a movie. Right?
This movie takes place in 15th-century Joseon Dynasty, and is about two street clowns who escape to Seoul after Gonggil—the effeminate of the two—is made to be a prostitute for wealthy customers. In Seoul they find another rookie troupe, and all of them eventually become court jesters for the king, Yeonsan. As time goes on, the king—much to the dismay of his main concubine Noksu—starts to fall in love with the gorgeous Gonggil. And other interesting stuff happens.
I’ve seen a lot of Korean movies, and this movie is probably now one of my favorites. It made me laugh and cry with its strong themes of vulgar humor and forbidden romance. It has one of those typical peculiar endings of Korean movies, but if you pay attention to the last few actions the characters make, you can figure out what happens. This movie is considered a gay movie, though I wouldn’t necessarily call it that. It definitely had homosexual elements to it, but I wouldn’t call that the main heart of the movie. Yes, it played a large role, but so did the troupe just being at the palace, which is the main source of conflict.
What made me decide to watch this? After seeing that my favorite actor Lee Jun Ki was in it (who plays the role of Gonggil), I decided to give it a shot. Not to mention the plot sounded interesting. I want to buy this movie, since I definitely would watch it again.

Moving back to blogger.

After having created a personal blog on tumblr, I decided to move back to Blogger! I think any blog hosted on this site has the potential to be huge, whereas it's harder to get your name around on tumblr. Since I already wrote a few entries on my tumblr blog, I'll re-post them here with the date they were originally published.
